How to play AGBE

Everything you need to start your life in Lomé: your first steps, your goals, then the complete game guide.

Your first steps

  1. Start your game

Tap “Play for free”. You can play right away as a guest, without an account, or create your account with your e-mail or Google to find your game on all your devices. AGBE is for adults only.

  2. Create your character

Choose their name, their profile (Togolese from home, from the diaspora or a foreigner), their region and their starting condition: well-off, middle or poor, or let fate decide. Then choose their look: hairstyle, outfit, fabric…

  3. Find a job

A short guided tour shows you the game screen. Then open the Phone and the Work app: pick a job that needs no diploma (car washer, delivery rider, seller…), go there during opening hours and start a shift to get paid.

  4. Keep your gauges green

Hunger, energy, hygiene, health, mood and respect drop over time. Eat, sleep, wash and get treated: if a gauge falls too low, you can no longer work.

  5. Pay your rent and bills

Every month, pay your rent, electricity and water in the “Rent and bills” app. Paying late is expensive, and after three months of unpaid rent you are evicted.

  6. Grow your life

Save, go back to school, register your company at the CFE, buy land and build your house. There is no ending: you succeed in Lomé by reaching your goals.

Your goals

There is no ending in AGBE: you succeed in Lomé by reaching these goals, which you also find in the “How to play” app on the in-game phone.

The complete guide

  • 🎮 Controls

In the street: joystick (or arrow / WASD keys) to walk, drag to turn the camera, mouse wheel or two fingers to zoom. On the map: drag to move around and tap a place or building to see its card and go there. At the bottom: Home, Map and Phone. At home and inside places, drag to rotate the room and pinch or scroll to zoom. To go in somewhere, walk up to its entrance; to leave, walk to the door (the green doormat).

  • ❤️ Your gauges

Hunger, energy, hygiene, health, morale and respect drop over time. Eat, sleep, wash and get care: when they are too low you cannot work.

  • 💰 Money

Everything is in FCFA. Your money is in the Wallet app. Put some aside in Savings to earn interest every day.

  • 💼 Working

Go to your workplace during opening hours and start a shift: every customer you accept pays you. You see your job being done: at the shop counter the customer comes to you, at the car wash cars pull in, get washed and drive off, and the delivery rider heads off by motorbike to pick up and drop parcels, then rides back to base at the end of the shift. Evening classes (School app) unlock better jobs.

  • 🛵 Getting around

Walking is free but slow; zem, wôrô-wôrô and bus cost according to distance. Tap a place on the map or use the Ride app.

  • 🗺️ Greater Lomé

The map goes beyond the city: to the north, the N1 runs through the Davié toll to Tsévié, with the turn-off to Kpalimé; to the north-west, the road leaves the Agoè interchange for the Légbassito roundabout and market, then Apessito on the Mission-Tové road, and Sogbossito. Land zones for sale are there too. Drag and zoom the map to explore them.

  • 🏠 Housing

You start as a tenant: single room, room-and-parlour or villa. Pay rent every month in the Rent app. When late, each month costs 10% more, the landlord comes knocking every week (respect and morale drop) and after 3 months you are evicted to a smaller home, or the street, with a debt. You can move (deposit + first month), buy your home or build on land bought in Real estate: no more rent.

  • ⚡ Bills

Every month: electricity (CEET), water (TdE) and, if you like, wifi. Pay them in “Rent and bills”. Without power you sleep badly, without water no shower.

  • 🏥 Getting care

At the CHU, a consultation plays out on screen: the doctor examines you, then hands you your results and prescription. If your health drops too low, you go to intensive care: you lie in a hospital ward bed while the doctor and nurse do their rounds, and you get up once you have recovered.

  • 🍳 Cooking at home

In the Kitchen app, do your shopping: ingredients at the market, gas at the petrol station, stove and fridge at the supermarket. Head home, pick a recipe and start cooking: you see your character cook on the fire, then eat at the table. A home-cooked meal is cheaper than the restaurant and gives a little extra morale; leftovers keep (a day, four with a fridge) or can be frozen. Careful: fresh food spoils, and without fuel the stove won’t heat.

  • 👗 Getting dressed

Buy your clothes in a fashion shop (Grand Market, Nyékonakpoè, Bè, Adidogomé) with the Clothes app: tops, bottoms, dresses and shoes, in men’s, women’s or unisex cuts. You choose your outfit at home: before leaving, tap “Change outfit before leaving” on your destination card, pick a top and a bottom (or a dress) and shoes, then wear it. You can also rent your own clothing shop: buy stock wholesale, set your prices and sell to other players.

  • 🎓 Studies and diplomas

You start with the bac: you can do every job that needs no diploma (shop clerk, rider, security guard…). To move up, open the Studies app: enrol at the University for a technical bac (G1, G2, G3, F1, F2, F3, F4, H), then a BTS (2 years, in every field), a bachelor’s (3 years), a master’s (2 years) and a doctorate, in one of 23 fields: computing, cybersecurity, data science and AI, telecoms and networks, accounting, banking and insurance, sales, law, human resources, journalism, health, pharmacy, education, agronomy, hospitality and tourism, transport and logistics, mechanics, construction, architecture, electricity, environment, fashion or hairdressing. Each year: pay enrolment, follow sessions from your phone (one per game day) then sit the exam; fail and you repeat the year. Each diploma opens better-paid jobs: developer, cybersecurity analyst, data scientist, nurse, doctor, lawyer, architect, engineer… The Work app sorts them into 22 families.

  • 🧑🏾‍🏫 Evening classes and lectures

In the School app: pick a course (bookkeeping, tailoring, motorbike mechanics, hospitality, hairdressing, driving school…), go there and pay the enrolment fee once. Then one session a day: be there on time (reminder 1 h before and at the start), at most 30 minutes late. You enter the classroom and follow the class until it ends: the teacher writes on the board, projects slides and explains. The question only comes at the end, and your answer validates the session. You can leave and come back before the end, your seat is kept. At the last session, your certificate unlocks jobs. Regularly in the evening, a public lecture takes place at the University: the whole city is told 1 h before. Entry is paid on the way in, and staying to the end earns respect and morale.

  • 🏦 Banks

Visit a branch (BOA, Orabank, Ecobank, NSIA, IB Bank, FUCEC) to open a savings account or a fixed-term deposit: the longer the term, the higher the rate.

  • 📈 Growing your money

Port trading, stocks, farming seasons and side businesses: every investment carries risk. Don’t put everything in one place.

  • 🏢 Starting a business

Register it at the CFE, hire, declare your employees to the CNSS and pay the OTR on time.

  • 🏞️ Land and real estate

In the Real estate app, pick a zone (countryside or in town) and buy 150 m² quarter-lots: the price per m² depends on location (centre, roadside, seafront). You can own 15 ha at most. Then complete the steps in order: survey, favourable opinion, land title (fees and delays in game days). With the title you can build a house or start an activity (garden, poultry, brickworks, warehouse, cement plant) that pays you every day during its lifetime. You show in blue on the map, other players in other colours, and a flag marks each business. Zones grow as lots sell. You can resell a titled plot to another player at your own price (up to 5 times its value): the buyer pays 5% duties and receives the title and the business. Collect your income before selling, and you cannot sell the house you live in.

  • 🛵 Zém (moto-taxi) driver

Go to the Gozem hub (Assigamé), pick the zém job and start a shift: you first choose your bike. A Gozem bike is rented per shift, servicing included. With your own bike there is nothing to pay but it burns fuel and wears out (refuel and service it in Garage). An entrusted bike: you sign a contract with an owner at the Gozem hub and pay them a fixed amount at every shift; you can end the contract whenever you like. The amounts are shown before you choose.

  • 🙏 Pray and reflect

At the Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Lomé Central Mosque, step inside to see the interior. Pray in silence: you are alone in the hall. Attend Mass or the Friday prayer: worshippers take their places and the service unfolds with you. Make an offering or give alms: you stand up, slip your coin into the box (and light a candle at church). It lifts your morale and respect.

  • ⭐ Earning respect

Respect shows how far you have come in Lomé. Biggest gains: build your house on your titled land (Real estate) and move in (+20), buy your home (+15), buy a used car at the port (+10), finish a course (+5, plus +1 per right answer). Every day: perfume at the supermarket (+5), wax print, jewellery or a tailored shirt at Assigamé market (+4), a night out in Déckon, glasses at the CHU, a lecture at the University or second-hand clothes in Adidogomé (+3), agbadja at the Bè maquis, a tour of Akodessewa or the dentist (+2). Small things: pay your rent on time (+1 a month), serve a customer at work (+1), study for free at the University library (+1), a photo at the Monument or a vaccine (+1). Careful: late rent costs 2 respect a week, an eviction 15.

  • 👤 Playing without an account

As a guest the whole game is open: live, work, bank, invest, run a business. Only real-money top-ups, ads, sea plots, buying land and money transfers need an account: create it in Settings, your game is kept.

  • 🔑 Sign in with Google

When signing up you can choose “Continue with Google”: your address is already verified, so only a username, your phone number and your birth date are left (AGBE is for adults). If an AGBE account already uses that address, enter its password once to link it to Google. You can always sign in with your email and password too.

  • 🛡️ Safety

Never share your password or code. Turn on two-factor authentication in Settings.

  • 🏆 How do I win?

AGBE is a life simulation: there is no “end”. You win by succeeding in life in Lomé: a steady job, bills paid, respect, a business, your own home and your first million FCFA. Track your goals at the top of this page. If life goes badly, you can start over from Settings.
